About Us

Our Family

Hello: We are Fiona and Robin, and have two beautiful girls, Maisie and Neave. We also have Fiona's teenage son Lee.

About Fiona

I grew up in Wimbledon, just up the road from the tennis courts.

My mother was a childminder during my school years.

Childminding has always been something I wanted to do, but I didn’t have the support to venture into it.

All my previous jobs have been in the retail trade in one form or another.

The birth of my second child, Maisie, and a very supportive partner, Robin, has meant that I/we can now open our home and look after other children as well as our own.

I have a son who is 13 years old, who is currently highly active within the Sea Cadets/Marine Cadets and currently working towards promotion to MC1 at the end of the year..

He is also interested in studying Law after his GCSE’s and is currently enjoying psychology.

Maisie, Neave and I enjoy dancing and singing around the house, Maisie is picking up all my old moves!

They both love their quiet time and relaxing with thier baby massages and using our reading garden, when we get time ;)

About Robin

I was born and bought up in London and attended a very unusual boarding school in Suffolk.

I have a degree in graphic design and spent 4 years at Art College getting it.

I spent over 30 years in the advertising / marketing industry.

I have lectured at colleges and to my clients about what I did and how I did it.

I have a fair knowledge of a lot of things and I love to learn more and love to pass that on.

I have 3 grown children and 1 older teenager who lives with her mother.

About the two of us

We love being together, so to now go into business with each other is sheer joy.

We have no secret to the way we get on, it just happens.

We have worked together previously and we worked really well, we almost know what the other is thinking.

Although there is an age difference, to know us, you find that we both have similar tastes and likes in very many areas.

We are funny, or at least we try to be…..depending on your sense of humour…..sometimes very dry.

We always seem to have a conversation on the go, be it about a TV program or the world news.

Childminding is something we discussed as an alternative future, the year before our daughter Maisie was born. After she was born we decided it was the way we wanted to go with our lives.

We enjoy going to Tots Groups and joining in all the games and singing! As does Maisie and Neave!

Our learning and development

Both trained up to:- Paediatric First Aid HABC Level 3 (QCF).

CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to work in Home Based Child Care(QCF).

City of York and North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Boards, Basic Awareness in Child Protection.

Both of us are Ofsted registered.

It doesn’t stop here, we will be continuing our learning and development as and when suitable courses come up with a long term view to obtaining a degree each.

We are also looking more and more into Pedagogy - Frobel, Montessori, Pikler etc

We had our grading inspection within the first year of being registered and within six months of us actually minding any children. We were very happy to get GOOD, we were told this was very good to get having being in business for such a short time :)

What we can do for you

We can be flexible to you and your children’s needs.

We can provide emergency childcare, for those times when 'things' don't go to plan.

We will take care and look after your children and try to push their boundaries on all levels, keep them interested and keen to learn.

Supporting parents in continued breastfeeding, weaning, baby lead weaning, potty and toilet training, and all aspects for your childs development.

Encouraging and supporting a healthy life style.

What we can do for your children

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The EYFS is a statutory framework that all child care providers must work with if they care for children from birth to 5 years.

It covers the development of your child and has 6 key areas of learning, these are:

• Personal, Social & emotional development

• Communication, Language & literacy

• Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy

• Knowledge & understanding

• Physical development

• Creative development

More information on the EYFS will be given should you decide you would like to start your child with us.

However, in the meantime if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
